*Wash and dry your brush between colors.

*Paint in the direction you'd brush your pet's fur.

*Thick paint on your brush will create texture.

*Painting over the lines a bit will create a more painterly effect

(and will cover the lines better).

*Paint first coat of pet first.  Let dry.  Paint background and canvas sides.

*Don't worry if pet color

*Wash and dry your brush between colors.

*Paint in the direction you'd brush your pet's fur.

*Thick paint on your brush will create texture.

*Painting over the lines a bit will create a more painterly effect

(and will cover the lines better).

*Paint first coat of pet first.  Let dry.  Paint background and canvas sides.

*Don't worry if pet colors are a bit dark.  This creates shadows, and depth.

*The dot on each pupil should be left unpainted.

*Whiskers can be left unpainted, or you can use your lightest color.

*Second Coat: Using some of your lightest color, mix a bit into other fur colors  for highlights. 

*Highlights should be more prominent on the areas where I've drawn extra lines (see image).

*If pencil lines show through your first coat, paint through the lines with highlights.

*If you're nervous about blending, try dotting the paint on, using alternating colors.

*If you're having trouble seeing numbers on your work plan, take a picture with

your device, then stretch the image to zoom in.  Or, email me and I'll send you

a .jpg of your work plan.

*Photocopy your digital drawing at desired size.

*Cut and glue front of photocopy to the back of a canvas.

*Use a bright window, or a light table, to help you see the image.

*Use pencil or fine sharpie to trace image onto front of canvas.

*Use sharpie to color in the pupil (not the white dot).

*Use sharpie to color in the nostrils.

*Peel drawing from back of canvas.
